In case you missed the Taylor Schools’ robocall (April 2), via Mark Kleinhans, interim superintendent:
“A huge thank you to all the volunteers and families who participated in our food distribution program. (Most recently), we distributed 1,942 bags equaling 13,594 breakfasts. Our next food distribution is Thursday, April 9, and although this is Spring Break, we have been approved by the state to do a food distribution during this time.
Today, Governor Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-30 in regards to schools suspending face-to-face learning at our PreK-12 schools for the remainder of the year. Taylor School District is working with its leadership team to continue to provide educational enrichment opportunities for our students during this unprecedented school closure.
There are many unanswered questions about this Executive Order that impact our district for the remainder of the school year.
We are working to make educated and thoughtful decisions about the future for our students and our district. As a reminder, Spring Break is from April 6-10 and will go on as planned. During this time, the Taylor School District Leadership Team will seek guidance from the Michigan Department of Education as well as Governor Whitmer’s office.
We are working hard to stay on top of these issues and will have a comprehensive plan after Spring Break.”
