HOOVER students support Gleaners, meet Darius Slay, cheerleaders and Rory!

Mrs.Tavener-Ridiger’s class from Hoover Middle School recently volunteered their time at Gleaners Food Bank. Students helped pack backpacks for children, a program that is able to help feed over 500 families.

The students were also treated with a special lunch provided by Meijer as well as a special visit with Detroit Lions All-Pro cornerback Darius Slay, Lions Cheerleaders, and Rory, Detroit’s mascot. It was a special day and the students who all felt wonderful after helping feed others that don’t have enough food.
