WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL students hear from wildlife refuge expert

Seventh-graders at West Middle School recently were treated to a special presentation by naturalist Mrs. Jennie Braatz. . Mrs. Braatz is from the International Wildlife Refuge located in Gibraltar.

Through a PowerPoint slide show Mrs. Braatz chronicled her journey from a young volunteer through college experiences and beyond to become an interpreter with the Fish and Wildlife Services. Mrs. Braatz encouraged students to consider careers that focus on the environment and conservation.

She is emphasized the value of volunteering in areas of interest even at this young age. The students appreciate Mrs. Braatz making the visit, because West Middle School encourages career awareness and understands the benefits of students having long range goals and support students exploring their options.
